Earl Charles, 56, of Jeanerette, has been charged with one count of attempted second-degree murder. Authorities say St. Mary Parish detectives were notified on Thursday by the Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office about a reported stabbing at a park in the Jeanerette area.

The victim sustained lacerations to the head and neck, though they were not life-threatening, officials said.

Arrest and Booking

Charles was arrested on Tuesday afternoon and booked into the St. Mary Parish Jail on a $250,000 bond.
