A Labadieville lady was arrested for allegedly scamming Medicaid of about $144,000 over nearly three years

A Labadieville woman, Nicole Carrier, 30, has been arrested for allegedly defrauding Louisiana’s Medicaid program out of nearly $144,000 over a span of nearly three years.

Carrier is accused of underreporting her income and concealing her marital status in order to receive additional Medicaid benefits between May 2023 and February 2026.

On Tuesday, Carrier was arrested by the Louisiana Bureau of Investigation (LBI) on four counts of government benefits fraud and three counts of first-degree injuring of public records. She was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.
