A 28-year-old man, Brian Koch, was arrested and charged after allegedly attempting to carjack a woman while impersonating a police officer. The incident occurred at an airport on April 29, when Koch allegedly approached a victim sitting in her car, claiming to be a police officer in need of a ride.
Details of the Attempted Carjacking
According to reports from KQFX, the victim, whose identity has not been released, was sitting in her car when Koch approached her. He allegedly told her he was a police officer and demanded a ride.
When the victim asked for proof of his identity, Koch reportedly showed her a gun and a machete before trying to enter her vehicle. Fearing for her safety, the victim quickly drove away and contacted the authorities.
Koch’s Arrest and Evidence Found
Police were able to apprehend Brian Koch as he allegedly attempted to flee the scene. Court documents obtained by KRCG revealed that when Koch was arrested, he was found with a knife, a plastic fake police badge, and a used hypodermic needle containing a clear substance believed to be methamphetamine.
During his detention, Koch reportedly made bizarre statements, telling police that “larvae were eating his brain” and that he could not remember his name or birthday, suggesting potential mental health issues or substance abuse problems.

Brian Koch was charged with a range of offenses, including:

- Three counts of armed criminal action
- Two counts of illegal use of a weapon
