Lockport, LA – Authorities have announced the arrest of Darreka Boykins Jr., 25, of Houma, who was wanted in connection with a January 2025 armed robbery. Boykins was taken into custody on Monday, May 4, 2026, in Lockport, following a coordinated effort by local law enforcement.
Armed Robbery in Houma
The armed robbery occurred in January 2025 at a business located in the 1900 block of Prospect Boulevard in Houma. Following an investigation by the Houma Police Department, an arrest warrant was issued for Boykins, who was linked to the crime. The bail for Boykins’ arrest was set at $500,000.
In addition to the armed robbery charge, Boykins also faced two other arrest warrants for failure to appear on unrelated charges.
Arrest After Tip from Crime Stoppers
On May 4, 2026, an anonymous tip submitted through Bayou Region Crime Stoppers led authorities to Boykins’ location. The tip indicated that Boykins was residing at a home on Comeaux Drive in Lockport.
Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office (LPSO) deputies, along with Lockport Police, arrived at the residence, and Boykins surrendered without incident. He was promptly taken into custody and booked into the Lafourche Parish Correctional Complex in Thibodaux. Boykins is awaiting transfer to Terrebonne Parish.
