A shooting incident in Shreveport, Louisiana, has left a 19-year-old man hospitalised after he suffered multiple gunshot wounds. Police officers are now investigating the case, but authorities say the lack of cooperation from witnesses is making the investigation difficult.
19-Year-Old Shot Multiple Times in Shreveport
According to the Shreveport Police Department, the incident happened late at night on Marshall Street. Officers who were already working an off-duty security detail in the area immediately informed dispatch after the shooting occurred.
When additional police units arrived at the scene, officers discovered a 19-year-old man suffering from several gunshot wounds to the lower part of his body.
Shreveport Fire Department medics quickly provided emergency medical treatment before transporting the victim to Ochsner LSU Health for further care. Authorities initially believed the injuries could be life-threatening due to the seriousness of the wounds.
Victim Reportedly in Stable Condition
Detectives later received an update from hospital staff stating that the victim was in stable condition after undergoing treatment for multiple gunshot wounds to the abdomen.
Police have not yet released the victim’s identity, and investigators are still trying to determine what led to the shooting.
Detectives responded both to the crime scene and the hospital to continue gathering information related to the case. Crime Scene Investigators also searched the area for evidence that may help identify the suspect responsible for the attack.
