The Riverside Academy softball team got off to a rocky start to the season, but the ladies now are picking up the momentum and are now 6-7.

The girls opened the season with a 7-2 loss against Northshore on Wednesday, Feb. 15 on the road. The team lost to Central – B.R. 8-6 on Thursday, Feb. 23 in the first home game of the season.

The team competed in the Sterlington tournament, losing to Sterlington 5-0 on Friday, Feb. 24, losing to Tioga 13-8 on Saturday, Feb. 25, and to Ouachita Parish 17-13 Saturday, Feb. 25 on the road.

The team finally got in the win column beating St. Martin’s Episcopal 20-0 in their first district game of the season on Tuesday, Feb. 28 on the road.

The girls started  March with a win against South Terrebonne 12-1 on Thursday, March 2 on the road. The team lost to John Curtis Christian 10-0 on Monday, March 6 at home.

The team beat West St. John 16-0 in their second district game of the season on Tuesday, March 7 at home. The girls beat Ponchatoula 6-1 on Wednesday, March 8 at home. The team beat Terrebonne 11-1 on Saturday, March 11 at home. The girls then lost to Archbishop Chapelle 7-2 on Monday, March 13 on the road. The team then beat St. Katharine Drexel 17-1 in their third district game of the season on Tuesday, March 14 at home.

The Lady Rebels are scheduled to compete against Lutcher on Wednesday, March 22 at 4:30 p.m. at home.
