The Baton Rouge Police Department has identified two people who died in a domestic shooting at an apartment complex on May 27.
Police responded around 10:29 a.m. to the Afton Oaks apartment complex on Newcastle Avenue, where a man allegedly shot his girlfriend before taking his own life.
Victims Identified
The victims have been named as:
- Averia Arceneaux, 33
- Johvon McKinley, 29
Authorities found both individuals dead inside the apartment from apparent gunshot wounds.
Domestic Violence Suspected
Investigators believe the shooting was related to domestic violence. No further details regarding the circumstances or the shooter’s motive have been released at this time.
