The Baton Rouge Police Department has identified two people who died in a domestic shooting at an apartment complex on May 27.

Police responded around 10:29 a.m. to the Afton Oaks apartment complex on Newcastle Avenue, where a man allegedly shot his girlfriend before taking his own life.

Victims Identified

The victims have been named as:

  • Averia Arceneaux, 33
  • Johvon McKinley, 29

Authorities found both individuals dead inside the apartment from apparent gunshot wounds.

Domestic Violence Suspected
