A juvenile has been arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with the death of a 12-year-old girl following an incident at Reseda High School in Los Angeles.
Authorities from the Los Angeles Police Department confirmed the case is being investigated as a homicide. Due to the suspect’s age, officials have not released their identity.
Incident Allegedly Linked to Bullying
According to the victim’s mother, Elma Chuquipa, the घटना occurred on February 17 inside a school hallway. She said another 12-year-old girl allegedly threw a metal water bottle at her daughter Khimberly’s head.
Witnesses reported that Khimberly had been trying to defend her older sister from bullies when she was struck.
Medical Emergency and Tragic Outcome
After the incident, Khimberly was taken to the hospital and later discharged. However, days later, she collapsed at home and was rushed back to the hospital, where doctors discovered a brain hemorrhage.
She later died from her injuries.

Following her death, community members gathered outside the school to hold a protest. Mourners left flowers and demanded accountability, highlighting concerns about student safety and bullying on campus.
School District Responds
The Los Angeles Unified School District issued a statement expressing condolences to the family and the school community.
