Every parent knows the fear of losing a child—just a few seconds of not knowing can feel like a lifetime. Kimberly Sanders experienced that fear when her 14-year-old son, Landon Sanders, went missing from their Texas home.
Landon’s Disappearance
Landon Sanders disappeared from his home in the Brushy Creek neighbourhood of Round Rock, Texas, on May 12, 2026. According to the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office, he was last seen on an indoor security camera at 8:05 p.m. riding a black scooter. At the time, he wore black pants, a white shirt, and a black backpack.
The next day, May 13, Landon was reportedly spotted with two other boys in the Forest Creek area. His mother shared details online to help authorities, admitting that he sometimes used a scooter from the garage without a helmet.
Community Support and Search Efforts
Although Kimberly had no idea where her son was, the community quickly rallied around her. Neighbours and followers offered prayers and messages of support, hoping for Landon’s safe return.
“Good, I hope he’s okay. I shared this and will pray for him to be found soon and unharmed,” one follower wrote on social media, reflecting the community’s concern and solidarity.
Landon Found Safe
After two tense days, Kimberly shared a joyful update on May 15. “Landon has been found and is okay!!! Thank you, everyone, for all of your help! We have the best community,” she wrote on Facebook. The relief of his safe return brought immense comfort to his family and supporters.
The Bigger Picture
Although Landon’s story had a happy ending, child safety remains a critical concern. The Child Crime Prevention and Safety Center reports that every 40 seconds, a child is reported missing or abducted in the United States. Kimberly’s experience serves as a reminder of the importance of vigilance and community support in protecting children.
