A 28-year-old man has died following a shooting at a store on Florida Boulevard, authorities confirmed.
Victim Identified
The East Baton Rouge coroner identified the deceased as Na’Quail Weaver, 28. According to the Baton Rouge Police Department, officers responded to reports of a shooting around 3:07 p.m. on May 14.
They found Weaver suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound and immediately transported him to a local hospital, where he was listed in critical condition before succumbing to his injuries.
Suspect in Custody
On Saturday, 26-year-old Deandre Selmon turned himself in along with his attorney. He was booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison and faces charges of attempted second-degree murder. The investigation into the circumstances of the shooting is ongoing.
