A Lafayette man has died following a crash involving an e-bike and a vehicle on Camellia Boulevard, authorities said.

The incident occurred on Friday afternoon in the 1000 block of Camellia Boulevard. Lafayette Police identified the victim as David Lanclos, 67, a resident of Lafayette.

Details of the Crash

Police said the crash happened around 1:54 p.m. A preliminary investigation indicates that a vehicle was attempting to turn left onto northbound Camellia Boulevard from Woods Crossing while Lanclos was crossing the roadway on his e-bike from east to west.

Lanclos was taken to a local hospital in critical condition but later died from his injuries.

Traffic Disruption

The crash temporarily closed all northbound lanes of Camellia Boulevard toward Johnston Street while police and investigators worked the scene.
