A 22-year-old Baton Rouge man has been arrested in connection with a shooting that left another man injured in Prairieville, Louisiana, on Wednesday night. The Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office (APSO) confirmed that Kayla Lucas, 22, has been charged with attempted second-degree murder, illegal use of a weapon, and aggravated criminal damage to property.

Shooting Details

Around 10 p.m. on Wednesday, deputies responded to a shooting at a restaurant parking lot on Perkins Road in Prairieville. When law enforcement arrived, they found a man with multiple gunshot wounds to his arm. Detectives reported that the victim had been shot by Lucas, who allegedly fired multiple rounds at the victim’s vehicle as he was leaving the scene after a fight.

Arrest and Investigation

A search warrant was executed at Lucas’ home, where authorities continued their investigation. Lucas was arrested and booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison. He is set to be transferred to the Ascension Parish Jail.
