A shocking murder case near the University of Washington has left students and residents deeply disturbed after new surveillance footage reportedly captured a suspect stalking a transgender college student moments before a brutal killing.
Authorities say 31-year-old Christopher Leahy allegedly followed 19-year-old Juniper Blessing inside a laundry room at an off-campus student housing complex in Seattle before unplugging a security camera and attacking the student. The tragic incident has sparked serious concerns about campus safety and violence targeting vulnerable individuals.
What Happened to Juniper Blessing?
The incident took place on May 10, 2025, at the Nordheim Court student housing complex near the University of Washington in Seattle. According to investigators, Juniper Blessing, a 19-year-old student originally from New Jersey, was inside the building’s laundry room shortly before the deadly attack happened.
Security footage later released by prosecutors allegedly showed Christopher Leahy repeatedly entering and leaving the laundry room during the evening. Police believe Leahy was watching the area and waiting until Juniper was alone.
Investigators say the suspect eventually returned to the room, unplugged the surveillance camera, and then allegedly stabbed Juniper multiple times.
A student later entered the laundry room and discovered Juniper severely injured on the floor before calling emergency services. Sadly, the student did not survive.

According to reports, the released surveillance footage showed Leahy entering the laundry room around 9:45 p.m. before quickly leaving. He later returned around 10 p.m. while Juniper was sitting near one of the dryers.

According to the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, surveillance videos allegedly showed him trying to enter private homes and other buildings in the Ravenna area during the days leading up to the incident.
Officials also claimed he attempted to enter at least one other campus building before the attack on Juniper Blessing.

Christopher Leahy Later Surrendered to Police
Christopher Leahy, who is not a student at the University of Washington, reportedly turned himself in to police on May 12 after investigators publicly released surveillance images connected to the case.
