A Louisiana man, 45-year-old Kentrell Sanders, was arrested after allegedly embarking on a violent crime spree on May 6, involving multiple stabbings, robberies, and carjackings. The spree ended with Sanders jumping into a river in an attempt to escape police, but he was soon coaxed out and taken into custody.

Violent Crime Spree Begins with Stabbings and Carjackings

The Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office reported that Sanders’ crime spree began early in the morning of May 6. Around 6 a.m., authorities responded to a hospital after a victim arrived with stab wounds to the head. The victim reportedly identified Sanders as the person who had broken into his home, standing over him with a knife when he woke up.

Shortly after, another victim in the same area reported a carjacking and stabbing. This second victim claimed Sanders entered his truck at a grocery store, ordered him to drive, and then forced him out of the vehicle at a later location. Both victims sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

Sanders Steals Multiple Vehicles and Robs a Business

After abandoning the first stolen vehicle, Sanders allegedly stole a second vehicle. Reports indicate that after a crash and a robbery at a business, Sanders carjacked a pickup truck at a gas station. However, the truck ran out of fuel as he was driving over a nearby bridge.

Desperate Attempt to Flee by Jumping into the River

With police closing in, Sanders attempted to flee by jumping into the river below the bridge. After spending about 30 minutes in the water, he was coaxed out by authorities and arrested.

Multiple Charges and Arrest

Sanders now faces a range of serious charges, including two counts of attempted murder, home invasion, theft of a motor vehicle, attempted carjacking, simple battery, and more. His crime spree and daring escape ended in his capture, and he is now in custody awaiting further legal proceedings.
