New Orleans Police have identified the suspect in a machete attack after the man himself showed up at the emergency room with a self-inflicted injury.
Machete Attack in New Orleans
According to the New Orleans Police Department (NOPD), 39-year-old Kasey Carrol went to the victim’s home and initially lied about the reason for his visit. The police report states that Carrol told the victim that the reason he was there was because “the victim knocked on the suspect’s door to do maintenance work.” However, shortly after arriving, Carrol attacked the 45-year-old victim.
Attack Details
The report details that Carrol used a machete to stab the victim twice in the head. While carrying out the attack, detectives say Carrol injured himself with the blade. He later arrived at the hospital with a laceration to his hand.
Victim’s Condition and Investigation
The victim was also hospitalized following the attack. However, the NOPD report did not specify the condition of the victim at this time. The incident occurred at a residence in the 2000 block of Poydras Street.
Detectives are continuing their investigation into the attack.
