A Missouri man, Clifton L. Davis, is wanted by authorities after allegedly stealing over $2,600 worth of merchandise from a Sam’s Club store in St. Charles, Missouri, just two days before Halloween 2025. Davis, 50, of St. Louis County, has been charged with felony stealing in connection with the theft of 50 boxes of Snickers bars and two jugs of laundry detergent.
The Theft and Investigation
According to St. Louis Post-Dispatch, police are actively searching for Davis, and an arrest warrant has been issued. Investigators used surveillance footage to identify Davis as the suspect who entered the Sam’s Club on October 29, 2025, loaded a shopping cart with Snickers bars and detergent, and then left the store without paying.
Footage later showed the suspect loading the stolen items into the back of a black Lincoln Navigator before leaving the scene. Employees at the store told police they believed Davis had tried to steal from the store in the past, which helped investigators make the connection.
Davis’ Criminal History
Davis has a long history of theft-related offenses, with court records showing he has been arrested and convicted multiple times in the St. Louis region since 1992. He is described as a multi-state stealing offender.
His criminal history includes convictions for thefts at multiple stores in the area, including Walmart in Wentzville, a Schnuck Market in O’Fallon, a Home Depot in Bridgeton, and a Menards in St. Ann. The Snickers theft would be his largest known theft in terms of monetary value.
