How the Band Began
In the Bywater area of New Orleans, the group first came together in a friend’s living room. That’s where they practised, tuned their instruments, and shaped their sound.
The band, known as Cally Cole and the Cosmos, started with singer-songwriter Cally Cole, who was already performing solo with her original songs.
The rest of the group—Molly, Rose, Kate, and Jemila—joined her to bring those songs to life with a full band experience.
A Bold Start Before Being Ready
What makes their story stand out is that they booked their first performance even before officially forming the band. It was a bold move, but it pushed them to come together quickly and prepare.
Their first big show took place at the Marigny Opera House, a well-known venue in the city. Performing there gave them a strong start and helped them gain confidence.
