On May 12, deputies responded to a local healthcare facility where a victim was being treated for injuries sustained earlier that day. The victim told authorities that the injuries were caused by a juvenile who had attacked them.
Arrest and Charges
Investigators identified the suspect as a 16-year-old. The teen was taken into custody and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of second-degree battery. Authorities later ruled that the suspect would be held in a juvenile facility rather than an adult jail.
