Two people have been arrested after allegedly dumping a woman’s body on a road in Louisiana following an overdose, according to the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Officials said deputies responded after reports of a dead woman found on Rountree Road in St. Amant. The victim was later identified as Crystal Odell, 47.

Autopsy Suggested Overdose

Authorities said an autopsy suggested Odell died from an overdose involving a mixture of narcotics.

Detectives later learned that Odell was last seen with 61-year-old Brigette Becker of Gonzales and 63-year-old Lawrence Coco of Darrow.

Two Suspects Arrested

Investigators said both suspects were in the area where the body was discovered shortly before deputies were called.

Authorities later located Becker and Coco in East Feliciana Parish. Both were arrested and booked into Ascension Parish jail on Tuesday.

Charges Filed in the Case

Becker and Coco now face charges of unlawful disposal of remains and failure to seek assistance.

The investigation remains ongoing.
