A Louisiana man has been arrested after authorities say he violently attacked two people inside a home, using a broken piece of wood from a door frame as a weapon during the incident. Deputies say the suspect fled the area before law enforcement arrived but was later tracked down and taken into custody.

According to the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office, 30-year-old Davonta Travon Beasley of Paincourtville allegedly entered a home near Belle Rose, Louisiana, during a violent confrontation in May 2023.
Investigators say the situation quickly escalated inside the residence.
Authorities allege that Beasley grabbed a broken piece of wood from a damaged door frame and used it to stab one of the victims during the altercation.
Deputies also claim he physically assaulted another individual inside the home.

According to investigators, after attacking the first victim with the wooden object, Beasley allegedly punched a second person several times during the incident.
