A man riding an off-road motorcycle died Monday evening (April 6) after allegedly fleeing police and crashing into an SUV at a busy New Orleans intersection, according to Louisiana State Police.
What Happened
The crash occurred shortly after 5 p.m. at the intersection of Canal Boulevard and City Park Avenue. Authorities say the rider was attempting to evade both state troopers and New Orleans police officers during an attempted traffic stop.
According to investigators, the motorcyclist ran a red light and collided with a large SUV that was making a left turn through the intersection.
