A 21-year-old man was fatally shot in the parking lot of a Whataburger restaurant early Sunday morning, prompting a police investigation in Lafayette, Louisiana. According to the Lafayette Police Department, the victim, identified as Nathaniel Julian from Breaux Bridge, was shot at around 4:30 a.m. on May 10, 2026.
Shooting at Lafayette Whataburger Results in Fatality
Police responded to a report of a shooting at the Whataburger located on W. Pinhook Road. Authorities said they were informed that Julian had been transported to a local hospital in a personal vehicle. Tragically, he was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital by medical staff.
Willis Carron, also 21 and from Breaux Bridge, was arrested in connection with the shooting. Carron faces charges of second-degree murder and two counts of simple battery. His bond has been set at $752,500.
