Radio host Charlamagne Tha God has warned President Donald Trump that his actions could lead to people celebrating his death like Mardi Gras in New Orleans after a controversial post about the death of former FBI Director Robert Mueller.
Trump’s Controversial Post on Mueller’s Death
On Saturday, Trump posted a message on Truth Social after learning about Robert Mueller’s death, writing:
“Good, I’m glad he’s dead. He can no longer hurt innocent people!”
This post drew immediate backlash, including from Charlamagne, who is a co-host of The Breakfast Club radio show.
Charlamagne’s Reaction to Trump’s Post
Charlamagne accused Trump of being a hypocrite, recalling how Trump had previously criticized foreign nationals who celebrated the death of Charlie Kirk in September. He also predicted that Trump’s actions could further damage his legacy.
Charlamagne said, “You’ve already ruined yours. You’re going to go down as the worst president of all time because you don’t care about democracy, you’re wiping your a** with the Constitution, and you’re leading this country into the worst financial crisis ever.”
He continued, “But you’re also putting yourself in a position where when you pass, people will treat it like Mardi Gras in New Orleans. The celebrations, the things people will say about you when you’re gone—Mr. President, I don’t care how many buildings you name after yourself, or how many holidays you create. None of that will matter because you’ve hurt too many people.
More importantly, you get back the energy you put out. Do you care? Do you care what Barron (Trump’s son) will think when you’re gone? What about Melania or your grandkids?”
Trump’s Response to Charlamagne
In a comment to Fox News Digital, White House spokesperson Davis R. Ingle referred to an earlier post from Trump in August, where he had called Charlamagne a “racist sleazebag” and a “low-IQ individual.”
Trump responded in the post, “He’s a low-IQ individual, has no idea what words are coming out of his mouth, and knows nothing about me or what I’ve done—like ending five wars, including the 31-year bloodbath between the Republic of the Congo and Rwanda, where seven million people died.
He didn’t know that, or about India and Pakistan, or about wiping out Iran’s nuclear capabilities, or closing the horrible open border. I created the greatest economy where prices and inflation came way down. Meanwhile, Joe Biden is the worst president ever.”
Mueller’s Legacy
Robert Mueller served as the FBI Director from 2001 to 2013 and later as Special Counsel for the investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 U.S. election. His investigation overshadowed much of Trump’s first term and led to charges against multiple Trump associates, including Paul Manafort and Michael Flynn.
Mueller’s final report found extensive contacts between the Trump campaign and Russian individuals, but it did not establish a criminal conspiracy.
