A Colorado family is grieving after a tragic incident in Pueblo, where a teenager is accused of killing both of his parents before dying by suicide. The Pueblo Police Department responded to a double homicide call on the morning of April 4, finding the body of Glenn Allen Beeman Jr., 40, in the roadway and the body of Amanda Leigh Manion, 41, inside a vehicle.
Discovery of the Crime and Suspect’s Suicide
According to a statement from the Pueblo Police, officers discovered the scene and were gathering information when they were alerted to a separate incident in Pueblo West. There, a male was found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Preliminary information led investigators to believe that this male was the suspect in the double homicide.
The Pueblo County Coroner, Dr. Gregory Grahek, identified the victims as Glenn Allen Beeman Jr. and Amanda Leigh Manion, and confirmed that their son, Glenn Allen Beeman III, is the primary suspect in the killings. Authorities are continuing to investigate the incident.
Family Speaks Out About Mental Health Crisis
In a Facebook post, Amanda’s brother, Eric Manion, confirmed the deaths and expressed his family’s pain and confusion. He linked the tragedy to what he described as a “catastrophic failure within the mental health system.” According to Eric, Glenn III had experienced a severe mental collapse, which he believes led to the tragic sequence of events that began with the killing of his mother.
Eric praised the family members present at the scene for their “heroic intervention,” which he said helped dissuade Glenn III from causing further harm to others before ultimately taking his own life.
“We are here to find answers and hope—hope for a future where we can learn to function without the people we have lost,” Eric said in his post, acknowledging the family’s sorrow and struggles in processing the tragedy.
A Mother’s Last Post
In the months before her death, Amanda Manion shared a heartfelt message on Facebook celebrating her son’s 19th birthday.
She posted a series of images of the two together throughout the years, writing, “19 years of being a boy mom! The ups and downs and in-between! I hope you know what I mean when I say I love you always and forever. I am thankful for another trip around the sun with you! Praying for an amazing year full of blessings!”

The case remains under active investigation by the Pueblo Police. Authorities have not released further details, and the family continues to seek closure while grappling with the aftermath of this horrific event.
