A heartbreaking hit-and-run case in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, remains unsolved nearly two months after a 63-year-old bicyclist lost his life due to severe injuries suffered in the crash. The East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office is now asking the public for help in identifying the driver responsible for the incident.
63-Year-Old Bicyclist Dies After Hit-and-Run Crash
According to Crime Stoppers and the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office, the victim, Herschel Brown, was riding his bicycle along Jefferson Highway near the intersection of Willow Trail Drive on February 28 when he was struck by a vehicle.
Investigators said the driver involved in the crash did not stop to help Brown and instead fled the scene immediately after the collision.
Emergency responders rushed Brown to a nearby hospital for treatment. Unfortunately, despite medical efforts, he later died from his injuries on March 7.
The tragic incident has left family members, friends, and local residents saddened while authorities continue searching for answers.
Police Still Searching for Suspect
Officials stated that investigators have carried out what they described as an “exhaustive investigation” into the deadly crash. However, despite their efforts, detectives have still not been able to identify the suspect responsible for hitting Brown.
