A man in a stolen jail uniform was arrested for trespassing at a hotel in Brevard County, Florida. The incident occurred when deputies were called to a hotel after a guest refused to leave after his reservation had ended.
The man, identified as Farron Fullerton, was found in a striped inmate uniform, which authorities later confirmed was stolen from Mitchell County Jail. He had not escaped from jail but had allegedly taken the uniform before leaving. Fullerton resisted efforts to be handcuffed when deputies arrived at the hotel.
What Happened at the Hotel?
On March 22, 2026, deputies responded to a call about a guest refusing to leave the hotel after his reservation expired. Upon arrival at Fullerton’s room, the deputies found him wearing a striped jail uniform. He allegedly resisted arrest, but deputies were able to place him in handcuffs.
Background and Charges
Upon investigating his background, deputies confirmed that Fullerton had stolen the inmate uniform from Mitchell County Jail before leaving. He was not an escaped inmate, as initially suspected.
The sheriff of Brevard County, Wayne Ivey, humorously commented, “I’ve heard of dress for success, but never dress for arrest!!”
Fullerton’s Arrest and Jail Booking
Fullerton, 53, was arrested and booked into jail on charges of trespassing and resisting an officer without violence. Sheriff Ivey also made a light-hearted remark, saying, “We hope Fullerton enjoys his stay at the Lodge. We’re not sure how it compares to Mitchell County Jail yet, so we’ll have to wait for his review upon checkout.”
