Cher’s son, Elijah Blue Allman, is claiming that his mother has stopped financially supporting him as he deals with ongoing legal and financial troubles.
Elijah Blue Allman Requests Lower Spousal Support Payments
According to recent court documents, the 49-year-old musician has asked the court to reduce the amount of spousal support he pays to his estranged wife, Marieangela King.
Allman reportedly told the court that he is struggling financially after Cher allegedly stopped sending him monthly financial support several years ago. He claimed the music icon used to give him $10,000 every month but ended the payments in August 2021.
Income Mostly Comes From Gregg Allman’s Estate
Without financial help from his mother, Allman said his main source of income now comes from the estate of his late father, Gregg Allman.
Court filings state that Allman receives around $10,000 monthly from the estate. However, after taxes, he reportedly takes home about $6,790 per month.
At the same time, he is currently required to pay King $6,500 each month in spousal support, leaving very little money for his own expenses.
Family Legal Battle Continues
The financial dispute comes during an ongoing public legal conflict involving Cher and her son. In previous court filings, Cher sought a conservatorship over Elijah Blue Allman, citing concerns about his history of substance abuse and his ability to properly manage his finances.
The conservatorship case attracted major public attention and highlighted tensions within the famous family.
Lawyers Question Allman’s Financial Independence
Attorneys involved in the recent support dispute argued that Allman has made little effort to become financially independent since separating from King in 2021.
According to the filings, legal representatives claimed he has continued relying on inherited money and financial assistance from family rather than seeking stable employment or additional income sources.
Next Court Hearing Scheduled
The legal battle between Allman and King is still ongoing. A court hearing regarding his request to reduce spousal support payments has been scheduled for July 17.
As the case continues, the family’s personal and financial struggles remain in the public spotlight.
