Two former Livingston Parish School employees have been arrested after a drug investigation led to the discovery of illegal substances and firearms in their home.

Accused Identified

Reginald Stewart, 49, and Bridgette Stewart, 54, both of Walker, Louisiana, were taken into custody following an investigation into their alleged involvement in the distribution of crack cocaine and other controlled substances.

Drug Seizures and Firearms Found

According to the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office (LPSO), agents conducted a search warrant operation at the Stewart residence. During the search, authorities seized 19 firearms, 19.6 grams of suspected heroin powder, 1.3 grams of crack cocaine, residual crack cocaine on appliances, packaging materials, and cook stations.

The seizure points to a large-scale drug operation, and the presence of firearms further escalates the severity of the charges.

Charges Against Reginald and Bridgette Stewart

Reginald Stewart faces multiple charges, including 19 counts of possession of a firearm with a controlled dangerous substance, one count each of possession with intent to distribute Schedule I and II drugs, operation of a clandestine lab, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Bridgette Stewart has been charged with possession with intent to distribute Schedule II and IV drugs and operation of a clandestine lab. Both suspects are currently held at the Livingston Parish Detention Center.

Connection to Local Schools

According to the Livingston Parish School District’s superintendent, Reginald Stewart had worked as a custodian and Bridgette Stewart was a school bus driver. However, both individuals are no longer employed by the school district following their arrests.

Ongoing Investigation

The authorities continue to investigate the full scope of the drug operation. More details may emerge as the legal process unfolds.
