Hillary Clinton recently reignited the debate surrounding the case of disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein by criticizing President Donald Trump and the Republican Party for their handling of files tied to Epstein.
Speaking at the McIntyre-Shaheen 100 Club dinner in New Hampshire, a fundraising event hosted by the New Hampshire Democratic Party, Clinton accused Republicans of dodging scrutiny over Trump’s alleged connections to Epstein.
Clinton Accuses Republicans of Avoiding Epstein Investigation
During her appearance, Clinton took aim at Republican lawmakers for what she described as their refusal to seriously investigate Trump’s ties to Epstein, a matter that has remained a contentious issue in political circles. “Look how they are dodging and avoiding and refusing to really investigate Trump’s relationship with Jeffrey Epstein,” Clinton said, which prompted loud applause from the audience.
Clinton also referenced conversations she had with Republican lawmakers, noting how they attempted to distract from the Epstein matter by focusing on fringe theories like “Pizzagate” and UFOs.
In her remarks, she criticized the Trump administration for delaying the release and investigation of documents tied to Epstein, which reportedly mention several prominent individuals, including Bill Gates, Elon Musk, and her own husband, former President Bill Clinton.
“The truth is Republicans don’t want to find out what happened,” Clinton argued. “If you want to know and give the victims their due, you have to elect a Democratic Congress that will hold everybody accountable.”
The Clintons’ Testimony and Denials of Wrongdoing
Clinton’s remarks come several months after both she and her husband, Bill Clinton, testified before a House Oversight Committee in February. The Clintons denied any wrongdoing in connection with Epstein and have not been charged with any crimes related to his activities.
Bill Clinton has repeatedly stated that he was unaware of Epstein’s criminal activities and denied having contact with him after their initial meetings.
Hillary Clinton similarly claimed she had never met Epstein. However, CNN previously reported that Bill Clinton appeared in Epstein’s flight logs at least 16 times between 2002 and 2003. Additionally, photographs have surfaced showing Clinton and Epstein together, further fueling the ongoing controversy.
Epstein’s Death and Ongoing Conspiracy Theories
Epstein’s death in August 2019, while he was in custody at the Metropolitan Correctional Center, has continued to spark conspiracy theories. His death was officially ruled a suicide, but doubts and speculation about the circumstances surrounding it persist.
Epstein’s associate, Ghislaine Maxwell, was convicted in 2021 on charges related to s*x trafficking and is currently serving a 20-year prison sentence for her role in the abuse of minors.
Continued Political Fallout
Clinton’s comments highlight the enduring political fallout from the Epstein scandal. The investigation into Epstein’s actions, his associates, and the extent of his network continues to be a point of contention between political parties, with Republicans often accusing Democrats of failing to fully examine their own potential connections to Epstein.
As more details emerge and public interest in the case remains high, the case is likely to remain a divisive issue in the U.S. political landscape.
