A marital dispute in Butler County, Pennsylvania, turned extreme when a husband used an excavator to demolish part of his family home after an argument with his wife.
The Incident
Authorities say 48-year-old Eric Pierwsza tore apart the rear of his house following a night of heavy drinking and a heated argument with his wife. The damage was so severe that investigators believe the home’s structural integrity may have been compromised.
According to reports, Pierwsza’s wife told him their marriage was over, to which he reportedly responded, “If it’s over, I’ll tear the house down.” He then climbed into an excavator and began demolishing the house while his wife and two daughters were still inside.
The sound of the machine destroying walls was reportedly audible during the wife’s frantic 911 call.
Aftermath and Arrest
After stopping the destruction, Pierwsza allegedly returned inside, grabbed a gym bag, and left town. Police eventually located and arrested him. He now faces several charges, including causing a catastrophe, reckless endangerment, and disorderly conduct.
His wife has reportedly planned to seek a protection-from-ab*se order following the frightening incident.
