Shelby Amidon’s Heartbreaking Death
Shelby Amidon, who was expecting her second child, was fatally shot at her home by 43-year-old Ricky O’Neil Beck Jr. on a Thursday morning. The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency confirmed that Amidon called 911 after being shot and identified Beck as the person stalking her.
It’s still unclear how Beck and Amidon were connected, but reports suggest Beck had been following Amidon for some time.
The Hunt for the Killer
After the shooting, Beck fled in his Chevrolet Z71, carrying a silver toolbox. Senior ALEA Trooper Brandon Bailey reported that Beck even pulled out a gun while ramming into a responding police car.
A manhunt for Beck followed, and later that day, his body was discovered in a wooded area. Authorities believe he shot himself.
