Authorities in Louisiana have identified a man who was shot by a sheriff’s office detective during a narcotics investigation in Metairie. The incident has led to multiple arrests and serious charges.
Suspect Identified and Condition Update
The injured individual, Trenton Broussard, remains hospitalised in critical condition following the shooting.
According to officials, Broussard has been booked on charges of aggravated assault of a police officer and aggravated assault with a firearm.

Sheriff Joe Lopinto stated that plainclothes narcotics officers were attempting to stop a white vehicle when the situation escalated.
Authorities say the driver of the vehicle rammed a deputy’s unit as officers attempted to intervene.

While deputies were in the process of arresting individuals from the vehicle, including Gonzales, Broussard allegedly approached officers on foot.
