Levar Variet, 24, of Lafayette, is facing multiple charges, including two counts of attempted second-degree murder, illegal possession of a firearm in a crime of violence, and aggravated criminal damage to property. His bond has been set at $530,000, according to the Lafayette Police Department.

Details of the Incident

Police responded to the LaQuinta Inn on W. Pinhook Road on Wednesday, May 20, following reports of an active shooting. Officers secured the scene and began collecting evidence related to the incident.

Authorities later located and arrested Variet. Property was damaged during the shooting, but no injuries were reported.
