In a developing case from Louisiana, a detention centre employee has resigned after being arrested on multiple forgery charges linked to alleged financial document manipulation.
Accused Identified
The accused, Courtney Moran (46), had been working as a clerical deputy at the Livingston Parish Detention Center for approximately eight years before her arrest.
How the Case Came to Light
According to investigators, the case surfaced on March 23 when a man filed a complaint with authorities. He reported that his credit score had been negatively affected due to suspicious mortgage-related documents.
The complainant told deputies he discovered several documents — including loan modifications and deferred payment records — that he believed had been forged.
Investigation Findings
Detectives launched an inquiry and reportedly uncovered multiple notarised documents containing forged signatures.
Authorities allege that several names were falsified on official paperwork, raising serious concerns about financial fraud and document tampering.
Connection Between Accused and Complainant
Officials confirmed that the complainant had recently divorced Moran, adding a personal dimension to the case. Investigators are examining whether this relationship played a role in the alleged actions.
Charges and Legal Status
Moran has been arrested and charged with five counts of forgery. Following her arrest, she resigned from her position at the detention centre.
The investigation remains ongoing, and further legal proceedings are expected.
