A Louisiana woman has been arrested following an investigation into a purse theft tied to a bar fight in Livingston Parish. Authorities say the case involved stolen property and unauthorized use of a victim’s financial card.
Arrest and Charges
Johnetta Hill was arrested and booked into the Livingston Parish Detention Center, according to the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office.
She faces charges of theft and identity theft.
Incident Details
Deputies said the case began after a large fight at a local bar in December, where a purse was reported stolen.
Investigators initially identified two women as persons of interest in the incident.
Use of Stolen Card
Authorities allege the stolen card from the purse was later used at a Circle K near Cockerham Road to purchase a carton of cigarettes.
Update on Second Suspect
Officials confirmed that the second woman who was originally under suspicion has since been cleared of any wrongdoing.
Recovery of Property
The victim’s purse has been recovered, bringing some resolution to the case as the investigation moves forward.
