Max Miller, a Trump-endorsed Republican representative, has been accused of physically abusing his ex-wife, Emily Moreno, the daughter of GOP Senator Bernie Moreno. Miller, who has denied the allegations, is currently facing a custody dispute that has brought these accusations to light.
Allegations of Abuse
Court filings obtained by the Daily Mail revealed that Emily Moreno is seeking to change their custody arrangement due to Miller’s alleged “dangerous physical behavior” during exchanges involving their 2-year-old daughter.
Moreno claims that during a custody exchange in February, Miller struck her, causing bruising on her arm and torso. Photographs obtained by the Daily Mail reportedly show the extent of the injuries.
Additionally, Moreno accuses Miller of throwing a pot of boiling water on her in 2024, again while their daughter was present. She further alleges that Miller regularly speaks to her in an inappropriate, aggressive, and demeaning manner, which she argues is harmful to their child’s well-being.
Divorce and Previous Abuse Allegations
Miller and Moreno separated in 2024 and finalized their divorce in 2025. The abuse allegations are not the first Miller has faced. In 2020, his ex-girlfriend, former White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham, accused Miller of physical abuse, including pushing her against a wall and slapping her after she confronted him about infidelity.
Miller’s Response to Allegations
In response to the allegations, Miller has framed his ex-wife’s claims as part of a “malicious campaign” against him. He pointed fingers at his former father-in-law, Senator Bernie Moreno, blaming him for financially supporting and enabling his daughter’s actions.
In a statement posted on X (formerly Twitter) on Friday, Miller wrote, “It is unfortunate that @berniemoreno continues to fund and enable his daughter’s malicious campaign to ruin my life despite his knowledge of her mental health issues. Bernie, this must be distracting from your job. These antics harm your own grandchild. Anytime you want to put a stop to this, you can.”
