A man who is accused of causing a fatal wrong-way crash on Interstate 10 in 2025 has been arrested. The incident occurred in St. John the Baptist Parish, Louisiana. Manmeet Singh, 30, was arrested on March 13 in Ridgeland by the U.S. Marshals Service after he had previously fled from authorities.
Singh was booked into the parish jail on March 14. He faces several serious charges, including vehicular homicide, reckless driving, and driving in the wrong direction. Singh is also charged with felony contempt of court and misdemeanor contempt of court. His bond is set at $260,000. Additionally, he is being held under a detainer from the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
Details of the Crash
According to Louisiana State Police, Singh had a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) of 0.21% when he drove the wrong way on Interstate 10. This led to a head-on collision with another vehicle, which killed 21-year-old Patricia Saidu. Saidu died at the scene of the crash.
Singh was severely injured and was taken to University Medical Center for treatment. After recovering, he was released from the hospital but fled authorities. He was later captured and arrested.

Singh faces charges of vehicular homicide, reckless operation of a vehicle, and driving in the wrong direction. Additionally, he is accused of contempt of court and is being held under a detainer from ICE.
