A man in Waco is facing criminal charges after authorities say a toddler suffered serious burns while under his care. Police allege the child was left unattended in a bathtub with scalding hot water and was not taken for medical treatment for several days.
Charges and Arrest
Bobby Fisher, 36, has been charged with injury to a child following the November 2025 incident. According to reports from KWTX, he was arrested this week in McLennan County after an investigation into the child’s injuries. Authorities say he is being held on a $10,000 bond.
Allegations of Neglect and Delay in Care
Investigators say Fisher failed to seek medical help or inform the child’s mother for four days after the burns occurred. According to the arrest warrant, he told police he considered taking the child to the hospital but chose not to because he feared getting in trouble.
The situation came to light weeks later when the child complained of pain to another child in the home. The mother then discovered severe injuries described as “bloody and pink” and immediately took the child to a medical facility.
Extent of the Child’s Injuries
Police say the toddler suffered third-degree burns with significant skin damage. During the investigation, the child reportedly told authorities that Fisher had hurt her in the bathroom.
Conflicting Account of Events
Fisher told investigators that the child may have turned on the hot water herself while he briefly left the bathroom to get a diaper. However, police say he admitted leaving her unsupervised. He also claimed he noticed steam when he returned but did not check the water temperature before placing the child in the water.
Case Ongoing
Authorities continue to investigate the case as Fisher remains in custody. The incident has raised serious concerns about supervision and delayed medical care in situations involving young children.
