A deeply disturbing case from Pennsylvania has come to a close after a man admitted to killing a woman, her husband, and their young child in a series of brutal acts. The court has now sentenced him to spend the rest of his life in prison.
Man Sentenced for Triple Murder
Jose Luis Rodriguez, aged 61, pleaded guilty to multiple counts of first-degree murder. He has been sentenced to three consecutive life terms without the possibility of parole.
The victims were Geraldina Peguero-Mancebo, her husband Junior Cabrera-Colon, and their 1-year-old son Jeyden.
Motive Behind the Crime
According to investigators, Rodriguez was in a relationship with Peguero-Mancebo. He became angry when she refused to leave her husband for him.
This led to a series of planned and violent actions that took place in September 2025.
Sequence of Events
Authorities said Rodriguez first shot Peguero-Mancebo in the head while she was inside his car. After killing her, he disposed of her body.
He then drove her 1-year-old son to a remote area in Ontelaunee Township and threw him into a pond. Reports confirmed that the child was still alive at the time, making the act even more tragic.
A day later, Rodriguez confronted Cabrera-Colon and shot him. His body was later found in a wooded area near a park.
Attempt to Mislead the Family
After committing the crimes, Rodriguez reportedly contacted the victim’s family and pretended to be concerned about their disappearance. For a short time, the family believed he was trying to help.
However, the truth came out during the investigation, revealing his involvement in all three murders.
Court and Family Reaction
During sentencing, prosecutors described the crimes as extremely cruel and heartbreaking, especially the death of the young child.
Family members said the punishment does not erase their pain but brings some closure. They expressed that living in the same world as the accused had been very difficult for them.
Investigation and Arrest
Rodriguez was arrested in September 2025. He later helped police recover the weapon used in the killings, which had been hidden at another location.
Authorities built a strong case based on evidence and his own statements, leading to his guilty plea.
