Man wanted for allegedly forcing a woman and three children into a vehicle at gunpoint

A Louisiana man is being hunted by authorities after investigators say he forced a woman and three young children into a vehicle at gunpoint before later firing a shot into the car while they attempted to escape. The terrifying incident has led to multiple attempted murder charges as police warn the public that the suspect should be considered armed and dangerous.

According to the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a gas station in the Schriever area shortly before 6:30 p.m. on May 22, 2026, after reports of a disturbance.

Investigators later identified the suspect as Jordan Williams.

Woman and Children Allegedly Forced Into Vehicle

Authorities say the incident began earlier in Thibodaux, where Williams allegedly forced an adult woman and three children into a vehicle at gunpoint.

According to investigators, the children ranged in age from just three months old to four years old.

Police allege Williams then travelled with the victims into Terrebonne Parish before stopping at a local gas station in the Schriever area.

Shot Fired During Escape Attempt

Investigators said the woman attempted to escape the dangerous situation while the vehicle was stopped at the gas station.

According to authorities, she managed to get back into the vehicle with the children and tried to flee the area.

As the family attempted to drive away, Williams allegedly fired a gunshot into the vehicle.

Officials stated that although no one was physically injured, the bullet travelled through the backseat area where the three small children were sitting.

Authorities described the situation as extremely dangerous and said the incident could have easily turned deadly.

Suspect Faces Attempted Murder Charges

Detectives with the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office later obtained arrest warrants for Williams in connection with the incident.

He is currently wanted on four counts of attempted first-degree murder along with aggravated criminal damage to property charges.

Investigators also revealed that the Thibodaux Police Department is expected to seek additional warrants related to incidents that allegedly happened within its jurisdiction.

Previous Domestic Violence Warrants Discovered

During the investigation, detectives reportedly learned that Williams already had several outstanding warrants connected to another alleged domestic violence case involving the same woman.

Authorities said the warrants were issued through the Houma Police Department.

Law enforcement officials have not publicly shared additional details about those earlier incidents but confirmed they are related to domestic violence allegations.

Police Warn Public Not to Approach Him

Sheriff Tim Soignet described the case as an extremely violent incident that endangered innocent lives, especially the young children involved.

Authorities warned the public not to approach Williams if he is seen because he should be considered armed and dangerous.

Investigators say they are aggressively working to locate him while continuing to gather additional evidence connected to the case.

Anyone with information about Williams’ whereabouts has been urged to contact the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office or local law enforcement immediately.
