According to the Madera County District Attorney’s Office, 25-year-old Vicente Jasso has been sentenced for the 2023 murder of his ex-girlfriend, 19-year-old Melanie Camacho.
The incident began on November 24, 2023, when Melanie finished her shift at an AutoZone store in Madera, California. She was last seen leaving work around 10:15 p.m.
Later that night, she texted her mother saying she was going to meet a friend. However, she never returned home, and her family reported her missing the next morning.

During the investigation, police discovered that Melanie was not meeting a friend as she had told her mother. Instead, she had planned to meet her ex-boyfriend, Vicente Jasso.
