A tragic discovery has been made in St. Charles Parish, Louisiana, where authorities found the body of Jonathan McFarland, a 45-year-old man from Collinston, who had been missing since a multi-vehicle crash earlier this week.
Missing Man Found Dead After Crash in St. Charles Parish
The investigation began on April 19, 2026, when Louisiana State Police responded to a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 10 East near mile marker 220 around 1:30 a.m. During their investigation, officials learned that McFarland had been involved in the crash but had walked away from one of the vehicles involved.
Despite efforts to locate him, McFarland’s whereabouts remained unknown, and the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office was called in to assist.
Search Efforts and Discovery
McFarland was reportedly in the area for work and had been traveling to a friend’s home in New Orleans when the crash occurred. Authorities conducted an extensive search, checking McFarland’s hotel room, his friend’s residence, and other nearby locations, but they were unable to locate him.

His body was found in a remote area, complicating efforts to find him earlier.
