According to court records, Teague now faces three counts of child neglect and abandonment.
The investigation began on April 30, 2026, after a young boy entered a hospital emergency room alone without shoes. Hospital staff quickly became concerned after the child reportedly told them his mother had dropped him off because she was upset.
The boy also informed hospital workers that his siblings had been abandoned nearby.

Children Described Troubled Conditions at Home
Investigators and child protection officials later interviewed all three children after deputies located them near the hospital area.
According to the probable cause affidavit, the children described a chaotic home life and claimed their mother’s behaviour became worse after learning that another family dog had died.
One child reportedly told deputies that Sandra Teague “went crazy” after finding out about the dog’s death.
The children also claimed several pets had previously died because they lacked proper food and water.
Investigators said the children described repeated neglect inside the home and explained that they were frequently forced to stay outside for long periods.
Son Claimed Family Was Regularly Locked Out
One of Teague’s sons reportedly told investigators that his mother cared more about dogs than her own children.
According to court documents, the boy explained that being locked out of the house was common and happened nearly every other day.
He reportedly said his sisters sometimes slept outside all night while he tried staying at friends’ homes whenever possible.
The affidavit also stated that this was the first time their mother allegedly drove them away and left them somewhere else completely.
Children Allegedly Forced Out at Hospital
On the day of the incident, investigators said Teague drove the children to the hospital and ordered them to get out of the vehicle.
According to reports, one child attempted to put on shoes before leaving the car, but Teague allegedly refused to let her take them because she had purchased them herself.
Authorities later contacted Teague at her home, where she was reportedly babysitting an infant.
Deputies said she immediately blamed one of her daughters for the dog’s death and stated she no longer wanted to care for her children.
Deputies Describe Disturbing Home Conditions
Investigators described troubling conditions inside the residence during their visit.
According to deputies, the house had a strong smell of garbage and animal waste near the entrance. Authorities also reported seeing several dogs inside the home.
One deputy claimed Teague stepped in animal feces while walking through the house and wiped it off on her leg.
Investigators also observed what appeared to be dirty standing rainwater filled with algae being used as drinking water for a dog.
Authorities later found a dead dog inside the garage.
Infant Also Reportedly Exposed to Unsafe Conditions
Deputies said the infant Teague was babysitting was also placed in unsafe surroundings.
According to the affidavit, flies were seen landing on the baby while the child was lying outside on a mat.
Authorities considered the conditions inside and around the home deeply concerning.
Neighbours also reportedly told deputies they had previously heard loud arguments coming from the house.
One neighbour even provided video footage where a woman believed to be Teague allegedly threatened violence during a dispute.
Sandra Teague Arrested and Held in Jail
Investigators said Teague never contacted police or child welfare authorities before leaving the children at the hospital.
Authorities later arrested her and seized her mobile phone as evidence in the investigation.
She is currently being held at the Flagler County Jail on a $150,000 bond.
Court records show her arraignment hearing is scheduled for May 26, 2026.
