One Man Killed, Another Injured in New Orleans East Shooting
A man was killed and another person injured in a shooting late Wednesday night in New Orleans, according to the New Orleans Police Department.
Officers responded to a call reporting gunfire around 10:40 p.m. in the 7900 block of Chef Menteur Highway, an area located in New Orleans East.
When police arrived at the scene, they found two people suffering from gunshot-related injuries.
Victims Taken to Hospital
According to police, one of the victims was grazed by a bullet, while the second victim had been struck by at least one gunshot.
Emergency medical crews transported both individuals to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Authorities later confirmed that one of the victims died shortly after arriving at the hospital.
Investigation Ongoing
Investigators have not yet released the identity of the victim who died.
