A woman was carjacked at gunpoint late Friday night near the Fair Grounds area in New Orleans after two masked suspects approached her vehicle while she was parked, according to the New Orleans Police Department.

Woman Carjacked While Sitting in Parked Car
Police say the victim was sitting in her parked vehicle on the 2700 block of D’Abadie Street when the incident occurred.
At about 11:20 p.m., two men dressed in all black and wearing face masks approached the vehicle.
According to investigators, one of the suspects walked to the passenger side of the car and smashed the window using a hammer.
Suspects Threatened Victim with Gun and Hammer
After breaking the window, the suspect reportedly entered the vehicle and placed the hammer against the victim’s head.
At the same time, the second suspect approached the driver’s side and pointed a gun directly at the woman’s face.
The suspects then ordered the victim to exit the vehicle.
Police said the woman complied with their demands.
Suspects Fled in Stolen Vehicle
Once the victim exited the car, the two suspects got inside the vehicle and drove away.
The stolen vehicle is described as a 2020 light blue Toyota Corolla with a Louisiana license plate number 261CZK.
Authorities have not released descriptions of the suspects beyond their clothing and face coverings.

The New Orleans Police Department is investigating the carjacking and searching for the suspects involved.
