A powerful tornado struck parts of Oklahoma, causing widespread damage and forcing emergency response teams into action. The storm left homes destroyed, infrastructure damaged, and communities working together to recover.
Tornado Hits Enid, Oklahoma
The tornado moved through Enid, a city in Garfield County near the state’s northern border. According to the National Weather Service, the storm produced a strong rotating column of air that caused serious destruction.
Videos shared online showed homes torn apart, roofs ripped off buildings, and debris scattered across neighbourhoods.
Damage and Injuries Reported
Officials confirmed that there have been around 10 to 15 injuries, but thankfully no deaths have been reported so far. Emergency crews quickly responded, searching homes and rescuing people trapped under debris.
Some of the worst damage occurred in residential areas, where entire houses were heavily damaged or destroyed.
Emergency Response and Community Support
Local authorities, including police and fire departments, carried out multiple search operations to ensure residents were safe. Mayor David Mason praised the community for coming together during the crisis.
Residents opened their homes, and local businesses provided equipment and support to help with rescue and recovery efforts.
Air Force Base Closed
The storm also affected Vance Air Force Base, which was temporarily closed due to power and water outages. Only essential personnel were asked to report for duty while restoration work continues.

The severe weather system also affected other areas, including parts of Missouri, where strong winds caused fallen trees and damage to homes. Fortunately, no injuries were reported there.
