A 17-year-old male was injured in a shooting on Saturday evening in the Ashton community of St. Mary Parish, Louisiana. The incident occurred around 5 p.m. on Gibbs Road. Deputies from the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene and found the teenager with gunshot wounds. He was transported to a local hospital, and his injuries were described as non-life-threatening.
Ongoing Investigation
Investigators believe that a dark-colored SUV may have been involved in the shooting and are currently searching for the vehicle and its driver. Authorities are urging residents in the Gibbs Road and Ashton areas to review any surveillance footage from that afternoon that could aid in the investigation.
