A woman has been arrested for the brutal stabbing of her elderly roommates in Brooklyn. The attack, which left one woman dead and another seriously injured, took place at the Ebbets Field Apartments on Bedford Avenue.
Incident Details
On Saturday night, Oumou Bah, 43, allegedly attacked her 74-year-old roommate, Hadiatou Bah, with a pair of scissors. The older victim was repeatedly stabbed in the head and arms. Another roommate, aged 72, was also attacked and suffered injuries on her back and arms.
The elderly woman was rushed to the Kings County Hospital Center, where she later passed away from her injuries. The second victim is currently in stable condition.
Cause of the Attack
The police believe the attack resulted from a bitter feud between the roommates. Neighbors mentioned that Oumou Bah had only moved into the apartment five months ago. Before the police arrived, a man who lived with the women was heard shouting and banging on the barricaded door, crying, “Let me in!”
Charges and Arrest
Oumou Bah was arrested at the scene and is now facing charges of murder, attempted murder, and weapon possession. She is scheduled to appear in Brooklyn Criminal Court for her arraignment.
Community Reaction
Neighbors described the victims as peaceful and kind-hearted individuals. One resident said, “They were very quiet, loving, and caring.” One of the victims worked as a home care attendant, and many were shocked by the violent incident that unfolded in their quiet neighborhood.
