According to authorities, the victim was 40-year-old Walter P. Scott III of Convent, Louisiana.
Police said Scott suffered life-threatening injuries in the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Emergency crews were dispatched to the scene near 5876 Louisiana Highway 74 at approximately 10:30 p.m. on Saturday.
